In Norway, this happened in 1935, when the employees (LO) and the employers (NHO) entered into the Main Agreement which laid the foundation for the cooperation that would continue to shape Norway. The state also became an important part of the collaboration, and after the Second World War we can talk about a tripartite collaboration between employees, employers and the state. The aim of the collaboration is to resolve conflicts and arrive at solutions that benefit all parties. This collaboration is the first of three pillars in the Nordic social model.
