Learning goals:

By the end of this MOOC, participants will understand the role of an Idea Manager in fostering innovation within tourism and hospitality, acting as a catalyst for effective idea development and implementation. They will learn to assess ideas using the Desirability, Feasibility, and Viability framework, ensuring concepts are market-driven, achievable, and sustainable, and focus on turning ideas into action plans, creating value propositions, validating demand, and scaling innovations.

Participants will evaluate ideas through ethics, cultural representation, and sustainability, while understanding the social and cultural impact of visuals. They will learn the benefits of effective idea management, including enhanced efficiency, improved brand reputation, and long-term growth, and explore visual promotion’s role, such as user-generated content, illustrations, and virtual tours, in shaping traveler decisions.

The course also covers the social impact of visuals, including cultural representation, environmental awareness, and ensuring authenticity and diversity in tourism promotion. Participants will develop action plans to transform ideas into reality, gather stakeholder input, pilot ideas, and sustain roles like the Idea Manager through leadership support and technology development.

Participants will learn techniques to evaluate and adapt ideas for long-term innovation, exploring sustainable initiatives and mobile applications to drive guest satisfaction and industry leadership. They will also gain insights into generational differences, understanding how the values of Baby Boomers, Generation X, Millennials, and Generation Z impact innovation and teamwork, and how intergenerational collaboration can enhance innovation in tourism and hospitality.
